Columbian pop-star Shakira is one of the most prominent Latin musicians of all time.

Known most notably in the States for her song “Hips Don’t Lie,” as well as for her role as a judge on the NBC Television show The Voice, she recently made headlines for a pretty wild story that has nothing to do with music.

According to The Guardian, Shakira was recently strolling through a park in Barcelona when two wild boars apparently attacked her. She shared some footage of her dirty and torn bag as evidence of the hog trampling and provided additional context through her Instagram account.

“Look how they left my bag, the two wild boars that attacked me in the park.

They were taking my bag to the woods with my phone in it. They’ve destroyed everything.”

Wild boars have become more and more of a nuisance across Europe as they continue to expand into more urban areas and cause conflicts with the people who inhabit those areas.

There have been other reported instances of wild boars in Europe attempting to steal bags from people. In May, a woman in Rome was reportedly cornered by wild boars who were eventually able to steal a bag of groceries from her.

In Berlin, a man was reportedly sunbathing nude when a wild hog ran off with a bag containing his laptop.

Last week, additional footage also filmed in Rome showed more than a dozen wild boars roaming the streets and causing a traffic jam.

According to The Hill, Spanish police have received more than 1,187 calls about incidents involving wild boars ranging from attacking dogs to destroying cars.

Europe, of course, isn’t the only place struggling to control destructively high populations of wild boars. Parts of the U.S. are grappling with wild boar issues of their own as well.

Joe Rogan recently discussed the massive feral hog problem that his new home state of Texas is struggling to get under control.
