Toni Braxton’s Album ‘Libra’ Is Now Available for Streaming

Last year, for the 15th anniversary of Toni Braxton’s album Libra, Rated R&B demanded justice for the criminally underrated album released on Blackground Records.

A year later, after much campaigning, the reprised label, now Blackground Record 2.0, and EMPIRE, have officially uploaded the album to streaming services for the first time.

Offered as the follow-up to 2002’s More Than a WomanLibra, an album title inspired by Braxton’s zodiac sign, entered the Billboard 200 at number four in October 2005. Driven by the top 10 R&B single, “Please,” and the second single, “Trippin’ (That’s the Way Love Works),” the album earned gold status.

Best of all is “Midnite,” a modern hip-hop soul record that features background support from Tamar Braxton, who contributed to other tracks, such as “Take This Ring Off.”

In 2020, Braxton released Spell My Name, making it clear that a classic never goes out of style. The LP, which featured the hit singles “Gotta Move On” featuring H.E.R. and “Do It,” was among Rated R&B’s 30 best R&B albums later that year.

Braxton recently stepped into the beauty business, launching a body care brand called Nude Sugar. She also appeared on season six of Fox’s The Masked Singer
